It lets you machine only the surfaces you select, with no need for reference geometry or machining boundaries.

Powerful Surface Machining Strategies
The SolidCAM HSS module offers many surface machining techniques for generating efficient, smooth and optimal toolpaths on the selected surfaces. With tangential lead-in and lead-out options, HSS creates smooth, flowing toolpaths. To avoid holes and slots, you can control the toolpath with special linking moves, such as radius links, without changing the model geometry.

HSS gives you full control to prevent collisions. You can also select surfaces the tool must not touch, and apply retract and approach strategies entirely under your control. When you machine local areas of a part, this keeps the tool away from regions you want to leave untouched or whose surface quality matters, so that only the surfaces you choose are machined.
You can define the tool’s lead-in and lead-out links as you like, depending on the surface and your needs. You can extend or shorten toolpaths, jump over gaps and holes, and use multiple entry and exit options.
